Mrs. Frances Morioka

Frances Morioka serves as Senior Warden, or lay leader, of Christ Church. As Senior Warden, Frances works closely with the Vicar and the lay leadership, or Bishop’s Committee, of the congregation, and helps with the organization and carrying out of the many ministries of the church.
Frances is a native San Franciscan, where she grew up, and was interned with others of Japanese descent at Topaz, Utah, during World War II. Following the war, she lived for a time in Detroit and Minneapolis, where she attended college, before returning to the Bay Area. She has since worked running various family businesses. Frances has three children, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren who all reside in the San Francisco region. She lives in the Richmond District, and has been a member of Christ Church for 75 years.
Frances brings her gifts of listening, patience, and honesty to her ministry as Warden.
